# Stripe

> Sales tax reporting and filing for Stripe with live invoice synchronization.

Zamp is the perfect companion to Stripe when it comes to sales tax reporting and filing. The platform provides live synchronization of Stripe Invoice transactions.

When invoice data arrives, Zamp automatically detects taxability based on your Stripe configuration, creating accurate summary reports. Prior to filing returns in each state where liability exists, the team accounts for variances and verifies data integrity.

## Options to Calculate with Stripe

Calculation must occur before payment processing. Stripe offers two methods:

1. **Stripe Tax** (recommended) — Similar to Zamp's API calculations endpoint. Requires origin information, considers product taxability, and determines tax amounts based on nexus responsibilities.

2. **Manual Tax Amounts** — Better suited for customized invoicing scenarios involving alternative calculation solutions, custom engineering requirements, or specialized accounting features.

## Integrating Zamp with Stripe

Zamp assigns dedicated Onboarding and Account managers to guide integration.

**Setup process:**

1. Detailed systems review occurs at onboarding
2. Zamp team requests creation of a **Stripe Restricted Key** with the following permissions:
   * "All core resources" — Read access
   * "All billing resources" — Read access
   * "All webhook resources" — Write access

Once the key is available, the Zamp backend team enters it into the system. Automatic backfill imports transactions to the first of the previous calendar year. Subsequently, invoices sync live.

## Filing Sales Tax for Stripe

Zamp's integration guarantees all transactions are captured up to the minute. The filing team builds detailed summary reports internally for review and submission.

Before committing filings, Zamp contacts you to verify accuracy, allowing reconciliation with internal Stripe records and accounting data.
